Lower Water Consumption

One of the ways that I employ to lower my water consumption is to put a wine bottle filled with water inside my toilet water tank. I have been using this method for so many years already.

I experimented with different bottles the first few days. Some bottles float (even with water) and gets out of place. Some bottles will not fit into the space beside the float ball.

It should be heavy and slim so as not to interfere in any way with the toilet tank system.

Another thing to observe is how much water should be reduced. It will help to experiment with varying degrees of water reduction. Waste will not drain completely if not enough water is present in the water tank. I chose a level that completely drains if I hold on to the trip lever until all water is drained inside the water tank. Sometimes though, there is a need for a second flush to get rid of all the waste but I don't mind.

Another way is to lower the water level of the water tank by adjusting the float ball. There is a "screw or knob" that controls the water level. Notice that there is a line inside the water tank indicating how high the water level will be before it stops refilling. I lowered mine around 1 1/2 inches below the line.

Initially, I combined these two methods but decided to remove the wine bottle a few days ago since it will sometimes take 3 flushes before the waste is completely rid of.

Why not try it..... You can always return to the original if you find this inconvenient.

Be good steward of what God has given us !
